Asheville Music School has donated weekly piano lessons to two OpenDoors children. Beginning next week, the new students will place their fingers on the keys and play the first notes of a new language. We hope these weekly lessons will inspire them to go beyond the fundamentals to someday play pieces by Bach or Beethoven or perhaps their own sonatas. There is mounting evidence that learning to play an instrument helps children become better readers and mathematicians.
