An Event Fit for the Gods

OD art affair 2014-013

For the past six years we’ve watched the energy build around this annual celebration of philanthropy.  Now, as we near the 7th annual Art Affair, on March 5th at 7 p.m. (VIP Reception begins at 6:30 p.m.) we are experiencing a community effort that is astonishing, humbling, and unprecedented – and is a true and beautiful expression of empathy and compassion in action.

We have the great honor of unveiling the new South Slope space for Green Man Brewery. Harmony Motors, Ananda Hair Studio and Brooke Priddy of Ship to Shore Designs have also returned to lend abundant financial and in-kind support. As guests arrive they will have safe and ample parking and shuttle service generously provided by Blue Ridge Limo. Dozens of Asheville’s finest restaurants and social lounges are catering signature dishes and serving special libations. Live entertainment is also being provided, and this year it will be absolutely breathtaking.

The incomparable event auctioneer, Andrew Brunk of Brunk Auctions, best known for his appearances on Antiques Road Show, hopes to once again inspire bidders to new highs – and thrilling, life-altering levels of support for local children in need. He will have plenty to offer, thanks to creative contributions from more than 75 regional artists that include paintings as well as exquisite works of ceramic, wood, glass, and jewelry.  Come prepared to take your new art home with you at the end of the night, too, because professional wrapping is being provided by the experts from BlackBird Framing.

Please consider taking advantage of our unique Persephone Package, too, which will give this extraordinary experience of Art Affair to those who work as everyday heroes and heroines within our community to ensure that the lives of children are enhanced, improved, empowered, and elevated. After all, the greatest reward and satisfaction derived from this spectacular gala is the feeling of knowing that you made it happen and forever changed the lives of local youth in profoundly positive ways.
