OpenDoors Asheville Partners with students and families from kindergarten through college and career, removing barriers and providing individualized educational support.

Whether you can help weekly, join a short-term project or volunteer once, we’d love to connect. Work directly with students or help behind the scenes.

Work with Students

  • Tutoring: An ongoing weekly commitment. Early literacy tutors receive structured training, ready-to-use lessons, and staff support.

  • 6-8 week enrichment class: Teach or assist with reading, math, art, tennis, or another activity.

  • College and career connections: Join a panel or support students as they plan their next steps.

Help Behind the Scenes

  • Art Affair: Join a November-April committee or help around the April 10, 2027 event.

  • Communications and outreach: Contribute to PR, marketing, and community connections.

  • Projects and events: Help once or occasionally with preparation, office projects, and special events.
